One of the easiest things you can do to ensure you love your wedding photos is to get a little practice ahead of the wedding day and have some pre wedding photos.

What's included with a pre shoot?

I typically catch up with my wedding clients a couple of months before the wedding day to run through all the plans for the day and cover some pre wedding photos at the same time.

In South Wales I’m fortunate to be surrounded by some amazing coastal locations that are fantastic for photography. They are also a perfect backdrop for both wedding and pre wedding photos.

I usually spend around an hour in total with couples, going over the wedding plans again and mixing in some relaxed portraits. Once you know a few simple tips and tricks it really takes the pressure off for anyone who isn’t super confident in front of a camera.

I include the photo shoot totally FREE of charge for all my wedding clients as I really believe this is one of the most useful products in terms of building a relationship with my couples.

Seeing the results ahead of the wedding day definitely helps to provide an added level of confidence both for what people are doing in front of a camera and also how I work with people on the day.

After the photo session, I edit everything and put things into an online gallery. From there you can view, download and print the images as you like for free.

In addition to the photos, I also include a short ‘trailer’ style video so you can see just how well our photo and film coverage works together.

What will you recieve?

  • 50 - 100 fully edited images

  • Secure online gallery of images allowing you to view, print and download your photos

  • Video trailer set to music

  • Fine art print - professional photo print on archival quality paper

Advantages of a pre shoot

Practice ahead of the wedding day

Many couples are not used to being photographed professionally and I know that some people can find it intimidating. However, with some helpful tips and advice you can easily learn how to look great in front of the camera. Nothing needs to be too forced but a few basic posing techniques can make all the difference.

Build rapport with your photographer

It’s important you feel comfortable working with your photographer. By spending a little time going through your wedding plans ahead of the day whilst also taking some relaxed photos, you can quickly build a relationship and get to know each other. I find this helps put clients at ease and removes any nerves or uncertainty around the process of capturing your wedding images.

Less stress on the wedding day

We all know that weddings can prove to be stressful but one thing you don’t need to worry about is your photography. If you’ve already had your pre wedding photos taken you will know what is required.

Working with a professional that you have already spent time with and built a working relationship with gives you the confidence that you can relax and enjoy having your wedding photos taken and your day will be captured perfectly.

Professional images for your wedding stationary

The photos from your pre-wedding shoot can be used for various purposes, such as save-the-date cards, invitations, guestbooks or even as decor at your wedding venue adding a personal touch to your wedding celebrations.

Costs of a pre shoot

I genuinely believe that this is one of the best things I can do for my clients to ensure they are comfortable in front of the camera and help to achieve great results on the wedding day. For that reason all wedding photography and film collections include the pre wedding shoot free of charge and within the overall cost of the collection.

If however you are looking to book a pre wedding photo session outside of a wedding booking, it is priced at £495.
